We spent part of spring break in Palm Desert and it was absolutely what the doctor ordered. Whether it was the joy of soaking up sunshine by the pool, time spent laughing with friends, or simply not having any obligations, I felt truly relaxed for the first time in weeks. Now we’re back to normal life but I’m very thankful for a legit break.
Nike revealed the USA Track & Field kits for this summer’s Paris Olympics and the comments section on this Instagram post is solid gold, especially the comments from the female athletes.
I love this article about the concept of microfeminism and how small daily actions, like not yielding space to a man walking down the middle of a sidewalk, can push forward real change. (Glamour)
“What Actually Happens When You Walk 10,000 Steps a Day” caught my eye because that’s my current goal. Here’s the watch I use to keep track of my steps because I have no desire to have a smartwatch.
What I’m Reading
After finishing Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone, a quirky mystery I liked quite a bit, I picked up Tom Lake by Ann Patchett from the library. I’ve seen this novel on so many recommendation lists and I’ve liked Ann Patchett’s books in the past (State of Wonder being a top choice) so I was very interested in Tom Lake. It’s the story of a mother recounting the time when she was involved with a now-famous movie star to her three grown daughters who’ve returned home to the family farm during the spring of 2020.
What I’m Watching
My Apple TV binge continues and now I’m onto The Last Thing He Told Me, the series adaptation of the popular book by Laura Dave. I didn’t love the book but it was decent and I do love Jennifer Garner and the show is pretty good so far.
We’re only three episodes from finishing Ted Lasso and I’ll be sad to see it end. For the record, this is why my husband and I don’t watch many shows together. It takes too long and I’m impatient.
