This week marks the end of the school year for my two kids. Between all the end-of-school things AND Mother’s Day AND my daughter’s 16th birthday AND planning for a big trip, we pretty much crawled across the finish line. But we made it!
Tomorrow we leave for a big family trip to Boston! We’ve been planning it for quite a while to celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary and I’m looking forward to seeing some sights and spending time with my parents and sister.

Where do you stand on the self-checkout lane? Walmart is testing the idea of removing them altogether and Target has been curbing self-checkout use in many stores. (Apartment Therapy)
I’m kind of into this idea of using wrist weights to work your arms without you know… working out. (Glamour)
This colorful home tour is so fun! (The Everygirl)

What I’m Reading:
I recently finished The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd and loved it. This mystery tells the story of Nell Young, whose greatest passion is cartography. Her father is a legend in the field but she hasn’t spoken to him since he fired her after an argument over an old, cheap gas station highway map. But when Nell’s father is found dead in his office at the New York Public Library, with the very same seemingly worthless map hidden in his desk, Nell can’t resist investigating. She soon discovers that the map is incredibly valuable and holds unimaginable secrets.
I listened to The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica which had me guessing until the end. Sadie and Will Foust have only just moved their family to a small island in Maine when their neighbor is found dead in her home. Between the murder and the job of caring for their new ward, Will’s withdrawn niece, Imogen, Sadie feels like she’s losing her mind. As Sadie is drawn deeper into the mystery of what really happened to their neighbor, she begins to realize just how much she stands to lose if the truth ever comes to light.
What I’m Watching:
Oh Bridgerton, why must we wait for the rest of season three? I enjoyed the first four episodes however maddening Colin Bridgerton might be as he tries to get out of his own way. Penelope is a character worth rooting for, but what will the rest of the season bring? I guess we’ll find out on June 13th.
I also recently watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith on Amazon. The series stars Maya Erskine and Donald Glover as spies hired to work together as a married couple. It’s a lot of action but also the dynamics between John and Jane as they get to know one another and learn to work together. Parker Posey has a fun part as well.
